The U.S. reached a grim milestone last week – its 1,000th execution since 1977, the golden age of disco.
Kenneth Lee Boyd, who was 57, died at 07h15GMT in the death chamber of Central Prison in North Carolina’s state capital, Raleigh, spokesperson Pamela Walker of the department of corrections said. Boyd was strapped to a gurney and injected with a fatal mix of three drugs.
Boyd, a Vietnam war veteran with a history of alcohol abuse, was sentenced to death for the murder in 1988 of his wife and father-in-law committed in front of two of his children.
Well, maybe he had a bad day. Perhaps he had been the victim of some type of social injustice that day. Perhaps he was suffering from that Carter malaise. None of these are good reasons to have executed him. Certainly not, according to the anti-death-penalty bitches.
The anti-death-penalty movement spends so much time, money and effort trying to save such human debris that it boggles the mind. There is nothing more sacred to them then the life of a murderer.
The grimmest part of this statistic is that it took 17 fucking years to waste this scumbag. That’s the problem with the death penalty these days. Not that it exists – but that it takes so long to get it done (thanks to scumbag attorneys, bedwetting federal appeals courts and assorted other obstacles to the needle). This is why it is not an effective deterrent. One thing it does deter, however, is the murderer from killing/raping/assaulting again.
“But wait,” the protesters say! Didn’t you hear Boyd’s final words?
Just the mere mention of the word “God” should have had the ACLU in there trying to jab the needle in themselves. But the ACLU praises the recently-converted Death Row Christian. They’re the only kind of Christian that the left can tolerate. Those Christians who are actually law-abiding citizens with families that don’t consist of two WNBA fanatics and a goat can go fuck themselves in the nose, as far as the left is concerned.
And don’t miss the pained description of Boyd’s last meal and final moments…
Well, he met with what was left of his family that he didn’t get around to killin’. I wonder what the final hours of his victims were like? Oh yeah… pain, horror and violent death. In contrast, Boyd got a nice meal and then went to sleep. He got the better end of the deal, for sure.
If you follow all the anti-death-penalty websites, you’ll find that every single person on Death Row is either (1) innocent or (2) mentally insane. Not a damn one of them is guilty – especially if you’ve shaved off your afro and started writing children’s books for gangstas. In addition, all those who have been executed have been executed wrongly. Poppycock.
Pro-murder leftists like the Death Penalty Information Center and the Tennessee Coalition to Abolish State Killing don’t have a problem with state killing as long as it’s the state picking up the tab on ending all those nasty unwanted pregnancies. When it comes to a piece of shit like Tookie or his ilk, their lives are more precious than any other on the planet.
Before I go too far off track, I should introduce you to Death Row Marv.
Mrs. Holmes bought me Death Row Marv several years ago. The great thing about Death Row Marv is that when you throw the switch and electrocute him, his eyes glow red and he laughs, then says, “Is that the best you can do? You pansies.” My guess is that if they would go ahead and zap Tookie you’d just hear a sizzling sound, some grunts and that’s about it.
I usually reserve throwing the switch for ol’ Marv for when Tennessee ices someone. Unfortunately, that means that I haven’t gotten to throw the switch since Robert Glen Coe bit the dust in 2000. Did you know that Coe was innocent!? Yeah, I know that comes as a shock.
I’m sure the ghost of 8-year-old Cary Ann Medlin (who Coe was convicted of abducting, raping and murdering) appreciated Amnesty International going to bat for her murderer. I suppose child-rapist/murderers are somehow political prisoners too, AI?
I will happily dust Marv off and bring him out of retirement if Tookie is fortunate enough to get the needle next week. Sadly, I don’t think the Governator will have the stones to stand up to his pointy wife and her Hollywood suck-ups, which means that Tookie will probably get another 20-year stay of execution.
Is the death penalty a deterrent? Not in its current form – and it won’t be until we can drastically reduce the time between conviction and execution.
Is the death penalty a proper consequence for murdering sacks of fecal matter like Tookie, Coe and Boyd? Absofuckinglutely.
I don’t really give two shits if giving Tookie the needle deters any of his gangsta followers from following in his murderous footsteps. He, and others like him, simply need to pay the price for their crimes. In his case, that means taking a well-deserved dirt nap.
